Abstract


There is opinion that the factors, like, income, price, human behaviout have effect on consumption. The effect mentioned ebove there is positive and there is negative. To test his opinion, only a little research is done. This matter support the researcher to search the marginal propensity to consume of Soybean in Bukittinggi. The data of this research came from field research by using questionary. The population is municipality by subdistrict. Then the choice of village administrative unit sample by proportional, whereas responden is choiced by random in every village choiced. At least responden is choised as much as from all village choised. The analysis method used are: firs, by using frequency table to see the characteristic of responden. The second, by multiply regression. The result of research indicate, that most responden have education SMA (35,0%) and working in govermaent official (45,0%); the aggragate of family responsibility are 6-7 person (50,6% and the most group income is Rp. 150.000-300.000 (53,42%). At last the most group income group that consume soybean in under 100 ons (48,96%). Obvious, after counted by statistic there is positive effect between income and consumption of soybean. Also ther is negative affect between the price of soybean and comsumption of sobean. Where is motivation effect forward consumption of soybean was proved. Obious, the kind of job has negative effect, namely for then work in government official prefer soybean to private official, adn positive effect between aducation, age and family size with consumption of soybean, so from the third hypothesis was proved.
