Analisis Komperatif Peranan Investasi Asing langsung (Foreign Direct Investment) Terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi di Provinsi Sumatera Barat dan Jambi

Abstract

Natural resources and human resources are different among region, it is difficult to grow because of the small income. This study aims to determine the comperative role of foreign direct investment on economic growth in the province of West Sumatra and Jambi. Type of research can be classified as descriptive-quantitative study. The data that will be used include: GDP data provincial export and import data; data is foreign interest rate (LIBOR) and other supporting data for the period 1985-2004. Methode of data processed by using multiple linear regression analysis (multiple linear regresion) within SPSS computers program. The result shows that private investasi conditions in the region of Sumatra, in the form of domestic and foreign investment fluctuate anough, cumulatively over the study period 1985-2004. Effect of FDI on economic growth in the region of Sumatra, it may prove significant at level of significance 1% and positive (elasticity). Finally, influence of several factors suspected as determinant variables, namely exports, government spending and interest abroad against supporting foreign direct investment in the Sumatra region.
